Noise canceling technology

Dual Noise Sensor technology captures ambient noise with two microphones in each earcup and sends the data to the HD Noise Canceling Processor QN1. Then, using the new algorithm, the QN1's HD noise canceling processor performs noise cancellation in real time, taking into account the acoustic characteristics of the surrounding environment. Together with the new Bluetooth Audio SoC (System on Chip - single crystal circuit), it senses and adapts music and noise signals and acoustic parameters between the speaker and the ears more than 700 times per second.

The WH-1000XM4 headphones use two highly effective noise canceling technologies: Unique Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing ensures optimal sound high above sea level, while Personal Noise Cancellation Optimiser analyzes the unique sound characteristics produced by the head size, glasses and hair, then adjusts the sound to your needs.

In addition, it automatically detects what you are doing - such as walking, waiting or traveling - and adjusts the sound characteristics of your surroundings accordingly.

Handy daily Speak-to-Chat feature

As soon as you start a conversation, the Speak-to-Chat feature automatically pauses the music and lets in the surrounding sounds so you can have a conversation – handy if you don't want to take off the headphones or your hands are busy. Based on Precise Voice Pickup technology, this smart feature with five microphones built into the headphones and an advanced audio signal processing system is able to recognize and respond to your voice. When the call ends, the music automatically resumes.

Headphones that respond to you

The proximity sensor in your headphones can detect if you're wearing them and adjust playback accordingly to save battery life. Remove the headphones and the music stops automatically. Put the headphones back on and the music automatically resumes.
