About the Le Creuset Kone Whistling Kettle

This compact kettle holds 1.6 liters – more than enough for a delicious cup of tea. The Kone Whistling Kettle is made of steel and has an enamelled interior and exterior. This means that stains can be easily removed and scratches are almost invisible.

The kettle is very easy to fill – simply remove its wide lid to reveal a large opening. This feature is convenient not only when filling, but also when rinsing or cleaning the kettle. The Kone kettle has a foldable handle, which is great if you want to move or store the kettle. The handle can only be folded in one direction – a small edge blocks the handle if you try to push it in the other direction. So you don’t have to worry about the handle folding while pouring water.

When the water starts to boil, the kettle will let you know with a happy whistle. It's time to remove the kettle from the heat source. We recommend using oven mitts to do this. Although the handle doesn't get hot, water may occasionally splash while boiling.

Care and use of Le Creuset whistling kettles

Remove labels and packaging before first use. Wash the kettle in warm water. Then boil clean water and pour it out. When using the Kone Whistling Kettle, make sure the handle is in an upright position. Never fill the kettle above the mark on the outside. To prevent the kettle from drying out, fill it at least to the bottom line of dots on the inside. Drying out can damage the kettle or your stovetop, which you definitely want to prevent.

Always choose the right heat source and temperature for boiling water. When using a gas stove, make sure that the flames do not reach the sides of the pan. When removing the kettle from the stove, wait 5-10 seconds before opening the whistle. Allow the kettle to cool completely before boiling water in it again. These whistle kettles cannot withstand sudden changes in temperature. If you are not going to use the kettle for a while, we recommend that you empty it and dry it thoroughly. This prevents limescale build-up and keeps the kettle efficient.
